刘东,于2011年获德国马克斯-德尔布吕克分子医学中心(Max-Delbrück Center for Molecular Medicine)/柏林自由大学(Free University of Berlin),自然科学博士学位(magna cum laude)。从2012年8月起任南通大学神经再生重点实验室副教授。中国解剖学会再生医学专业委员会委员,江苏省发育与细胞学会理事,江苏省神经科学会理事,江苏省发育生物学会听觉科学专业委员会副主任委员,江苏省神经科学会青年委员会委员。主讲本科生《分子生物学》和研究生《高级分子生物学》等课程。先后获得国家自然科学基金青年项目、面上项目等7项基金资助。

主要研究方向为:

1、鉴定参与血管新生、毛细胞以及神经系统发育过程中的全新调控分子。

2、组织再生过程中血管化的过程及调控机制。

3、利用多种遗传操作技术建立转基因和基因敲除斑马鱼模型。

4、筛选调控血管内皮细胞和运动神经元行为的天然化合物
